Hi , I know this may be a stupid question but what the reading of the treatment arm stands for in the heart beat data set?? I mean in the treatment arm variable, there are 3 numbers;1,2, and 3. what does the numbers mean?? I tried to search in the data set for the interpretation of this but could not find any. Thanks in advance.

Not a stupid question - I agree this information was difficult to find. The CT.gov link provides a fuller description of the three treatment arms.

For the treatmentarm variable, the meanings are as follows:

  1. HLSE (Healthy Lifestyles and Sleep Education - control arm)
  2. HLSE-O (Healthy Lifestyles and Sleep Education + (supplemental nocturnal) Oxygen - oxygen arm)
  3. HLSE-P (Healthy Lifestyles and Sleep Education + Positive airway pressure treatment - CPAP arm)

I will add some clarification to the HeartBEAT documentation. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and let us know if you have further questions!
