I am processing the SHHS1 database and investigating aspects of the database using techniques employed in the field of seismology.

As a seismologist and mechanical engineer I am not fully familiar with all measured cardiovascular factors. Could someone please explain to me what "Tuscon Cardiovascular Disease" TCVD is? It is not clearly defined in the variable definition. I have not found anything concrete in my research.

Thank you kindly in advance.

Hey - thanks for checking out the site!

I believe the shhs1_tcvd variable is an indicator variable telling us whether the Tucson field site provided CVD data for a given SHHS subject. In other words, it is not a special type of CVD or cardiovascular factor. Tucson is a city in the state of Arizona. I don't know why there is only an indicator for the Tucson site and not for other sites.
