11.7 Copying Files

  1. Ensure that the Acer 3.5” external floppy disk drive is connected to the laptop computer.
  2. From the Multispiro main menu select F5 File.
  3. Select Copy Files from the F5 File pull-down menu.
  4. A selection box will be displayed on the screen providing several choices for copying files. Select Copy From Default Drive/Directory to Floppy A.
  5. Use spacebar to select/deselect the files that need to be copied.
  6. To copy only one file, move the cursor to the desired patient and press Enter. To copy groups of tagged patients, move the cursor to each desired patient and press the spacebar to tag the file for copying. The tagged files are shown in red.
  7. When you have tagged all that you want, press Enter to proceed.
  8. Push the formatted floppy disk into the disk drive.
  9. Press Enter to copy items from the laptop onto the disk.
  10. After ensuring that all records have been copied onto the disk, select F1 Patient from the main menu.
  11. From the pull-down menu, select Delete Patient Data.
  12. As each item is highlighted, select Enter.
  13. Each item will be highlighted in red and you will be asked to “Delete? Y/N.” Select Y to delete the item.
  14. Continue this process until all of the items have been deleted. By deleting the items in the laptop’s hard drive, more room is left for future patient testing.
  15. When finished deleting the files, select F5 File to exit program.
  16. Type Exit. This will take you back to the Windows start menu. The computer may now be shut down
