6.5 Certification

Certification for anthropometry requires:

1. Observation of performing these measurement on 3 volunteers by a HeartBEAT trainer, with evidence that all elements of measurement are followed (placement of tapes, preparation of the participant).
2. Evidence of agreement of 3 replicate readings within .5 cms or 0.1 kg (for weight) for each volunteer measured.
3. Evidence of agreement with the standard (ie. Trainer) to within 0.5 cms or 0.1 kg (for weight), using the average of 3 readings per practice study subject.

Research staff who do not participate in central training may be trained and certified by a centrally trained and certified individual, or with approval, by a local expert approved by the SDCC.
