7.5.3 Abdominal Impedance
This measurement will be done with the BIA – Quantum X Analyzer.
An electrode belt will be placed on the participant. It should be placed just below the umbilicus. Four electrodes will be applied.
Two voltage-measuring electrodes will be applied 7 cm from the umbilicus, (one to the left and one to the right).
Two injection electrodes will be placed 5 cm to the left/right of the voltage electrodes (or 12 cm from the umbilicus).
These electrodes are plugged into the Quantum X Analyzer.
Once the measurements have stabilized, record the displayed Resistance (R) and Reactance (Xc) on the datasheet.
