19.4.2 Digitizing a Sleep Study

  • 1. Connect serial cable from the communication port of the computer to the back of the Edentec monitor.
  • 2. At the computer, double click on the Edentec Download icon to begin the EdenTrace Archiving software.
  • 3. A blue screen will appear ‘EdenTrace II Archiving’, press Enter.
  • 4. When the first menu appears, select Retrieve.
  • 5. Press Enter.
  • 6. At the second menu, select Retrieve.
  • 7. Press Enter.
  • 8. The third screen will prompt for a filename. Before entering a filename, press F5.
  • 9. Select the Data directory.
  • 10. Type in a filename according to the guidelines listed in Section: Edentec Filenames.
  • 11. Press Enter.
  • 12. Turn on the monitor, and after the beep, press Enter to start the download into the computer.
  • 13. When the downloading is complete, the screen will prompt you to press Esc.
  • 14. Exit the archiving program. NOTE: You will have to close the window by hitting the X in the far upper right hand corner once you reach the blank DOS screen.
  • 15. Remember to go back to the Monitor Control Chart and check the “C” column. This is to indicate that the monitor information has been put into the computer.
    1. When you finish downloading, the monitor will ask if you want to save the data.
    • If the sleep study needs to be printed, push the button directly under the word Yes. The follow instructions for printing the study (Section: Printing a Sleep Study).
    • If you have already printed the sleep stud, you may erase the memory. When prompted if you want to erase the memory, select No. It will then ask if you are sure, select Yes. Remember do not erase the memory until you have printed and digitized the study.
    1. Make sure you check the appropriate column in the Monitor Control Log when you are done digitizing the monitor.
